California Valley Quails are here! Available Photo to the right is an adult picture - what makes these quails distinctive is their head dress or "crest" on top of their head, it's real and what makes this quail so unique! 1 youngster available at this time Ready Now, but will have their adult plumage in the Fall Males and females have slight variation in color $25.00 each or $50.00 pr These birds are sociable so more than 1 quail should be kept together. Their diet consists of small chick feed, finch or dove seed, insects like mealworms, greens (dandelion). Oyster shells, grit and crushed hardboiled eggs with shell can be given as a good source of calcium as females may lay eggs with or without a male. Theses quails also love dust bathes, you can just use play sand. They are ground dwellers, but like to perch high to roost at night. Relatively quiet.	I use to be a roman in the day!
Button Quails - Available Colors to choose: Pure white and Cinnamon Pied Ready Now $5.00 each These birds are highly social so more than 1 quail should be kept together. Hens need lots of calcium in their diet as they will lay eggs most of their lives, with or without a male. Oyster shells, grit and crushed hardboiled eggs with shell can be given as a good source of calcium. Theses quails also love dust bathes, you can use play sand. They are ground dwellers and like to hide in crevices or hollowed out logs. Make many different sounds.	Males have a "bib" under their necks whereas females do not I gotta wear a bib, very sloppy when eating those delicious mealworms	You mean this.... to That! Very cool!
RECENTLY SOLD BABIES
Eclectus (Solomon Island) - SOLD Congratulations to Shannon and her family of Michigan. Your new baby Eclectus is a gorgeous girl...have fun with "Miss Lizzy!"   This specie of bird can be sexed visually by color. Because both the male and female have such magnificent feather coloring, it is one of the reasons they are most sought after. Males are mostly green (but a spectacular green) with red sides to the body and red under wing coverts, with some blue in the wings and tail. The upper mandible is yellow, the lower mandible is black and the iris is orange.  Females are a spectacular combination of red and purple. The head, breast and undertail coverts are vivid red, the back and wings are dark red, and the abdomen and upper mantle are purple. In some females, the abdomen is bluish-mauve. They also get a beautiful eye ring. This baby will be socialized and will know the "step up" command.  I plan to wean her on a varied diet to include Tropimix, fresh foods including fruits and veggies and what ever food you request.   This baby will also come with a care sheet, starter bag of food, a hatch certificate and the actual egg she hatched out of! ************************ As she continues to grow,  blue feathers will contrast with the vivid red on her wings. Everyday the colors get more intense!	We affectionately call her Miss America. When ya beautiful, you just know it! Below posing at only 6-1/2 weeks old, she is getting the beautiful contrasting coloring on her feathers. These colors indicate she is a female.  In the wild, these colors help her blend in with the hollows of her nest   That's right, keep looking
African Grey (Congo) - SOLD Congratulations to Robin and her Mom and to the rest of the flock on your new Baby Grey!!!  He's growing fast and before you know it, he'll be coming home to you! An adult Grey will have light gray feathering with a gorgeous red tail. This species of bird is mostly known for their ability to mimic sounds, talk and whistle with such clarity and accuracy it just might fool you!  Approximate weaned date end of Nov. This baby will be socialized and will know the "step up" command. This baby will also be DNA tested for sex and is included in its price.  I plan to wean him/her on a varied diet to include a high grade pellet, seed, nuts and fresh foods or a food requested by you.   This baby will also come with a care sheet, starter bag of food, a hatch certificate, its official DNA gender certificate, and the actual egg he/she hatched out of! DNA tested as Male, I'm a boy, but I knew that! This is me when I was just a baby, oh how I miss those days... ******************************* This is me below posing at 3-1/2 weeks old, being compared to a plum.  This was an embarrassing moment	This baby is starting to peck at seed and pellets and it looks like it may have stuffed too many in its mouth!  Too Cute! Is there a cute baby in the house!  ************************** As you can see, this baby was starting to get its little red feathering on its tail. He is also getting the shimmering grey feathers on its wings.  For those buckeye fans out there, nothing like the scarlet and grey colors!
Amazon - Orange winged - SOLD Congratulations to Jason and Becky of Beckley on your new Amazon Baby!!! An adult Orange-Winged Amazon looks very similar to a Blue Front Amazon, but has orange feathers on the wings vs. red ones. Adults will also have bright yellow and blue feathering on their face and head.  If you look at the second photo of this baby, you will see all the coloring it is beginning to get on its wings, including the orange colored feathers that defines its name. If you look closely, the feather coloring also includes blues, some so dark they look violet. This baby will be socialized and will know the "step up" command.  I plan to wean him/her on a varied diet to include a high grade pellet, seed, nuts and fresh foods.   This baby will also come with a care sheet, starter bag of food, a hatch certificate and its official DNA gender certificate -  **Has been DNA Tested as Male! **	Posing at 4 weeks old Peek a boo, I see you and I'm actually all grown up now and went to my new home!! Jardine's Parrot - SOLD  Congratulations to Laurie of Clintonville on your new Baby Girl Jardine!!! An adult Jardin's Parrot will have gorgeous green feathers laced with black and will develop orange-red feathering on its forehead to forecrown, wings and thighs. Quaker Parrots - Both Sold One baby Sold to: Congratulations to Michelle and her family on their new Quaker Baby!!!  Hoping you are having fun with it! One baby Sold to: Congratulations to Felecia and her family on their new Quaker Baby!!!  Enjoy all of his silly antics! Quaker parrots also go by the name of the Monk Parakeet.  Its original origins are in South American, although you can find some wild colonies right here in the U.S.A. Since they are not native to our country, these darling little parrots have been banned in some states due to the wild flocks they established in some states. You are allowed to own these birds in Ohio as long as their wings are kept clipped.   People are most attracted to this specie of parrot because of their smaller size, charm and playfulness. Watch what you say around these little guys as they have the ability to mimic you! .  Approximate weaned date end of Sept. These babies will be socialized and will know the "step up" command.  I plan to wean them a high grade seed mixture as well as fresh foods.  These babies will also come with a care sheet, starter bag of food and a hatch certificate. If you would like your baby DNA tested for gender, the additional cost is $25.00.	Quaker babies below The coloring of these babies is considered Green and this is their natural color and what you would find in the wild (no hair coloring used here- el naturel!).    We know we're cute, take a picture, it lasts longer!
